Menu Update

I have re-worked the menu here, removing Contact and Art because most contact form efforts are spam and art because most of my recent art is actually in a separate project, a Tekken web comic based on an old fanfiction of mine, The Jin Saga, the comic being called The Jin Saga CV2, since I am in the second effort of making the story into a web comic. I have also added a link to my Patreon in the menu. I have been focused more on these two things so figured it was time to note them on this website as I am preparing to publish page 3 of the comic soon. I didn’t want to post page 3 here without any reference at all.

Tekken 7 at Evo 2018

In this Moment, over the course of Evo, I went over who played against who and won during the stream, when my time allowed, some commentary in between, and bracket updates for the Finals.

My favorite player, being that he is the best Devil Jin player in the world, placed 2nd, so congrats to Qudans.

I have returned to gaming! You might be wondering what I mean since I clearly have been playing Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix with my strategy guide videos and GIFs this month so what I really mean by that is I’ve been playing LittleBIGPlanet and foregoing certain other things at more times of the week than a Saturday or Sunday morning as I have with KH2FM. This could mean less from my creative endeavors, then again, maybe not because I see I still made time do some stuff over the month.

In between all that, my kid started kindergarten, which puts me in a position of maybe more time, maybe not. It’s hard to explain.

I’ve put off a certain thing in the works and realized said thing could take months or years if it ever comes to fruition at all. In any case, I set up a schedule for myself on my webcomic to try and release a final draft on the 7th of every month and am on schedule for that so expect page 3 within the week. So, for September, the main plan is that webcomic page. We’ll see how much more LBP playtime disrupts the other stuff.

Black Diagonal Stripes Collection

This collection provides the following:

Patterns Description: The patterns provided here are black diagonal stripes combined with other colors. These colors are based on the hexadecimal values that match HTML color names with the exception of Purplev2. There are 22 patterns total.

Tiles – This folder contains the tiles of the patterns by themselves.

Tiled Samples – This folder contains sample graphics that show the tiles in use for a banner sized 674 pixels wide and 274 pixels tall.

Displayed Together – This folder contains compilation files to help user compare what each of the tiled samples looks like in comparison to all the others. This sample display is provided in PNG, XCF, and PSD formats.

SVG base – This file is the vector used to make these tiles. This will allow user to expand to other color combinations and resize as needed.

Contents – This file is to describe the contents of this collection.

License – This file describes what is and is not allowed by the user.

With the download of this collection, the user receives permission to use these files in the following way:

1. You may use these files to create graphics or use on websites, including non-commercial and commercial purposes.

2. You may NOT re-package and sell the entire collection.

We starting off June with some new digital art, Lydia (original character) sketch and lineart to serve as samples for a new illustration commissions page. The base pose is traced from stock provided by SenshiStock. It is the first in a Draw Everything June challenge. Will I do more in the challenge? I’ll be keeping an eye out on the stock and decide as the month goes on.

More services are in the works as I draft up what I am willing to do for how much.

I am also working on a Jin model sheet for redoing The Jin Saga comic (or starting a new one like The Jin and Jun Story I started writing). I decided to closely examine some of my favorite fanartists’ work (4-gehiro (WARNING: Some drawings are NSWF!) and istdog). Even so,I may actually go back and redo this as I found another potential reference in Godeater: Resurrection to help with the angles or maybe I’ll load up Tekken 7 and use that. I’m aiming for a younger, smaller Jin at the moment. In any case, here is what I  have on the model sheet so far:

So, looks like May was really busy, and I have plenty to work on in June, provided time and motivation allow.

Chaos with Claws Progression Log

The header image above is the final image I will be working toward. The idea is based on the Greek mythological character Chaos, sometimes personified as a woman, and the inspiration for the look is drawn from Sailor Chaos in the Sailor Moon Sailor Star series, the digital artwork by GENZOMAN titled Chaos, the digital artwork by sandara titled Black Angel, and the Succubus persona from the Persona video game series, mainly Persona 5. Also, I very much wanted to do a picture of someone or something with claws. Click on any image below to see the progression log as a slideshow.

Original photo. I did not take it with the idea of drawing myself in mind, but it looked like a good reference while I was brainstorming ideas.

Initial lineart, 1px thickness, lower resolution.

Re-worked lineart, 7px thickness, higher resolution.

Initial grays to get a feel for shading.

Added some colors but wanted more variance in the colors so kept going.

Re-worked the shading based on playing around with colors.

Finished image after deciding on final color scheme.
